About Makoa Quest
Makoa Quest is a 501c3 Nonprofit organization dedicated to the restoration of Native Ecosystems.
We partner with Indigenous Cultural Practitioners who lead culturally-immersive, educational and interactive Quests for families, travelers and groups. Each Makoa Quest that is embarked upon, supports our non-profit to provide opportunities for community programs that assist in health and wellness.
We emphasize collaborative models and the progression of a regenerative economy with other Hawaii nonprofit organizations who we serve and cooperate with. This is part of our commitment to further educate the global community that comes to Hawaii, on the importance of place-based knowledge and healthy engagement with the Hawaiian islands.
Our commitment is to provide a safe space for all to feel welcome and to practice Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Culture and Belonging. We hope to create an environment that can bridge the gap between visitors of Hawaii and the local community.
Through the funds that we raise from our Quests, we are grateful to have the opportunity to provide culturally-immersive programs for the Maui youth, ecological restoration and education for our local community in developing regenerative systems for the future generations.
Our Current Goals:
Investing in the future of Maui youth through educational and culturally immersive programs.
Provide hands-on learning of ecosystem design and water stewardship for the Maui community that includes locals and visitors.
The restoration of native ecosystems on South Maui coastlines and wetlands.
